"自在" (zìzài) opens the Heart Sutra, in the line "观自在菩萨" — the one who perceives with sovereign ease. It's not just calm, or contentment. It's the clarity that comes from seeing the world plainly on the outside and seeing yourself plainly on the inside — and the freedom from convention that follows once you actually see.
Split the name "ZiZai" down the middle and you get "ZiZ" plus "AI" — ZiZ is the clear-sighted core that 自在 points to, and AI is the technology that turns what you've seen clearly into something real. Put the two together, and that's the whole idea behind ZiZai. The company itself was founded in 2026, based in Beijing.
Our method is simple: find the moments in daily life that are "fine, but not quite right" — a jiu-jitsu practitioner staring down a pile of technique notes they can't remember, a parent whose few minutes of daily attention keep getting swallowed by everything else — and turn them into products that hold up under actual use.
We're not trying to build a big company. We're trying to get each product right. Right now, that means three things: a jiu-jitsu training tool (ZiZBJJ), a parent-child companionship tool (Echo), and an enterprise collaboration tool (Lake2Ocean). Three very different situations, judged by the same standard: would the product be worse without this feature? If the answer isn't obviously yes, we leave it out.
